But, I don't have a license?

If shooting has piqued your interest but you lack a license, worry not! CDPC is an excellent starting point for those looking to learn how to shoot, navigate licensing, safety, and different shooting sports. New and unlicensed shooters can “try out shooting” at the club and fill out a NORI form that we file with Victoria Police. You can enjoy this experience up to 13 times in your life.

Should you discover that shooting is a serious interest, you can apply for a provisional license with the Department of Licensing and Regulation. This license allows you to continue participating in shooting while completing necessary steps like joining the club, completing required shoots, passing a safety course, and more.

In addition, CDPC maintains a range of “club guns” for you to try out and shoot with, so you can find what fits your style best.

Don’t wait any longer! Give us a call today and come try it out – no license or firearm required!

Safe Storage of Firearms

Prioritizing safe storage is a crucial step to take before purchasing a firearm. This is not only important for meeting legal requirements, but it is also a critical safety measure.

To comply with regulations, storage receptacles must have steel with a thickness of at least 1.6mm.

For receptacles with an empty weight of less than 150kgs, they must be bolted to the premises to ensure maximum security.

Additionally, a sturdy lock is mandatory to safeguard the firearm when stored in the container.

Regulations require cartridge ammunition to be stored in a separate locked container from the firearm. Detailed information on firearm storage regulations can be found link .
