CDPC Code of Conduct

CDPC and all its members adhere to a Code of Conduct that outlines the minimum standards expected of every member in all club activities, including competition, training, practice, spectatorship, and club-sanctioned events. This Code is designed to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all members and is enforced by the club.

        1. Act within the rules and spirit of the shooting sport.

        2. Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit and promote fair play over winning.

        3. Compete by the rules and show respect for Range officers and other members

        4. Encourage and support opportunities for people to learn appropriate behaviours and skills.

        5. Support opportunities for participation in all aspects of the shooting sport.

        6. Treat each person as an individual.

        7. Show respect and courtesy to all involved with the sport.

        8. Respect all rights and worth of every person, regardless of their Age, Race, Gender, ability, and Cultural background, Sexuality or Religion.

        9. Respect and abide by decisions of the Range officer’s and Club trainers.

        10. Respect and abide by the decisions of the Committee, and in the event of a disagreement or dispute, raise the matter in an appropriate forum and situation.

        11. Display appropriate and responsible behaviour in all interactions.

        12. Display responsible behaviour in relation to alcohol and other drugs.

        13. Act with integrity and objectivity, and accept responsibility for your own decisions and actions.

        14. Ensure your decisions and actions contribute to a safe environment.

        15. Ensure your decisions and actions contribute to a harassment-free environment.

        16. Do not tolerate abusive, bullying or threatening behaviour from anyone.

        17. Aggressive Behaviour

Aggressive or anti-social behavior has no place in the shooting sports or at CDPC, and will result in disciplinary action and possible expulsion from the club, as well as being reported to LRD.

CDPC is committed to upholding the Worksafe Bullying & Harassment code of conduct, and expects all members to show mutual respect to each other. Any member who fails to do so may face disciplinary action or non-renewal of their membership.

All members are expected to abide by the Rules & Regulations, Codes, and other legislation that govern the club, as outlined in the membership renewal application. Prejudice of any kind, including against a person’s religion or race, has no place in this club.

Failure to follow the CDPC Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including being brought before the committee to explain oneself. If necessary, a report may be forwarded to LRD, and the member in question may be deemed no longer a “fit and proper person” in accordance with the Firearms Act 1996, resulting in cancellation or suspension of their license, or expulsion from the club.
